D4 (Chaturthamsa) = Primary Bhagya Chart (Not D9), Natural Years of Planets (Saturn=7/19, Mercury=36, Rahu=42-44) & Karaka Bhava Nashaya Controversy
D4 is the Bhagya (fortune) chart per BPHS Ch.1: "Parashara explicitly said Chaturthamsa shows Bhagya. Fortune manifests as land, property, houses — immovable fortune. D4 is your fortune. D2 is your wealth/assets." D2 vs D4: D2 (Hora) = liquid wealth, accumulated money; D4 (Chaturthamsa) = Bhagya, fortune, property, land; D9 = marriage/destiny; D12 = parents. These are different charts for different aspects of life. Natural years of planets (from Naishargika Dasha timing behind father-death verse ages): Saturn = 7, 19; Mercury = 36; Rahu = 42-44 (Kalabhairava yoga years, early 40s); Sun/Mars = 1, 6; these numbers in Parashara's verses come from Naishargika Dasha or a lost timing scheme — patterns can be reconstructed from chart observation. 9th from Moon = native's thoughts and emotions about father (not father's vitality itself); Moon is karaka of mind; planets there show the quality of the native's mental relationship with father. Karaka Bhava Nashaya controversy ("Sun in 9th = bad for father"): PVNR — "That does not apply here. Those are controversial. They don't apply." Sun as 9L in own house (Leo) with malefics can still show father living to 50. Full D12 confirmation always essential for parent readings.
"Parashara explicitly said Chaturthamsa shows Bhagya. Fortune comes because of dharma, but it manifests as land, property, and houses — the measure of immovable fortune. D4 is your fortune. D2 is your wealth. They are different things."
— P.V.R. Narasimha Rao
Key Philosophical Principles from This Lesson
D4 (Chaturthamsa) as the Bhagya Chart
Critical ruling: For Bhagya (fortune) analysis, the primary divisional chart is D4 (Chaturthamsa), not D9 or D2.
— PVNR"Parashara explicitly said Chaturthamsa shows Bhagya. Fortune comes because of dharma, but it manifests as land, property, and houses — the measure of immovable fortune. D4 is your fortune. D2 is your wealth/assets. They are different things."
| Chart | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| D2 (Hora) | Wealth, liquid assets, accumulated money |
| D4 (Chaturthamsa) | Bhagya, fortune, property, land |
| D9 (Navamsa) | Marriage, destiny, second half of life |
| D12 (Dvadasamsa) | Parents |
9th from Moon for Father Analysis
Rule: In addition to 9th house from Lagna and 9th from Sun, use 9th from Moon for father analysis.
What 9th from Moon shows: The native's thoughts and emotions relating to father — not the father's vitality itself, but how the native feels about father and what thoughts arise about him.
- Saturn in 9th from Moon → native will feel deep sadness when father-related situations arise
- This is why Saturn there + Sun-Rahu conjunction can show father's early death: the native's emotional state confirms the event
Natural Years of Planets (Naishargika Dasha hints)
| Planet | Natural Year | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Saturn | 7, 19 | 7th planet; 19 years; also Rahu period |
| Mercury | 36 | Professional/livelihood years |
| Rahu | 42–44 | Early 40s; Kalabhairava yoga activates |
| Sun/Mars | Related to 1, 6 |
PVNR note: "These numbers (3, 7, 16, 18, 19, 25, 26, 28, 33, etc.) in Parashara's timing verses come from Naishargika Dasha or some lost timing system. We don't fully know the scheme, but Parashara gave them and we accept them. If we find consistent patterns in charts, we can reconstruct the scheme."
When Not to Worry About Karaka Bhava Nashaya
The principle "Sun in 9th (own karaka house) = bad for father" is controversial. PVNR deems it does not apply strictly.
— PVNR"That does not apply here. Those are controversial. They don't apply."
