Rāhu (daśā lord) — in the 7th house of the Navāṁśa (Gemini).

• As co-lord of Aquarius he is the 3rd lord from lagna. Counted from the 7th house, Aquarius is the 9th. So from the house of marriage he is the 9th lord in lagna. "That is very good. He can give marriage, definitely."

Jupiter antardaśā (running, up to 2014)

• Lagna lord, in the 2nd house of family — but debilitated.
• From Rāhu he is the 7th lord, in the 8th house. Rāhu is at the end of Gemini and Jupiter at the end of Capricorn in the Navāṁśa, so he is clearly in the 8th.
• "Jupiter could do marriage." There is some chance now. But a debilitated lagna lord, 8th from the daśā lord, is no reason to tell an 18-year-old student to marry.

Saturn antardaśā (2014 to early 2017)

• From lagna: 2nd and 3rd lord in the 4th house. From Rāhu: 8th and 9th lord in the 10th.
• "It doesn't really strongly show marriage." Jupiter is the better candidate of the two.

Mercury antardaśā (from about the end of February 2017)

• 7th lord in lagna.
• From Rāhu: lagna lord in the 7th.
• "If we were to guess, we would have guessed Mercury is the best." She will be about 23.

Advice and Prediction Are Two Things

Advice: "Go and get married now" is advice to give an 18-year-old student only if the time is excellent. It is not.

"The advice is, do not get married now, and if he is willing to wait, you can ask him to wait, but get married only after your degree."

• It is unlikely that anybody waits from 2012 to 2017. No harm in asking. If she likes him she can marry him — not now.
• Do not bank on this person. Be prepared that it may be somebody else.
• "There is nothing to worry. The natal chart looks good." She will have a good marriage.

• Marriage muhūrtas are available in February–March.

• Hora Lord is Sun. In the annual Rāśi he is the 12th lord in the 8th house. In the annual Navāṁśa (lagna Aries) he is the 5th lord in the 8th. Neither points to marriage.
• Annual Navāṁśa 7th house holds Saturn and Rāhu — 11th lords, and so bādhaka lords, for Aries lagna.

• The Navāṁśa lagna is right on the border: 38 seconds of leeway. "We don't know for sure whether Saturn is actually 7th lord in the 7th house."
• Lagna lord Moon is afflicted by Rāhu, the 8th lord.
• Saturn's period comes around February 2014, about a year and a half after the class.
• "It's not great, but it's okay. There is some chance, especially given that Saturn is the ruler of the year." If a good match comes then, or this one is willing to wait a year or two, it can be considered.

Bottom line: definitely not this year; a slight chance in early 2014; the expectation is 2017.

Going Abroad in Rāhu Daśā

• Rāhu is in the 12th house of the Rāśi chart and his daśā is running. That alone made the teacher look further: "If Rāhu is in the 12th and Rāhu daśā is already running, there is a good chance that the person will go abroad."
• A student asks why D-4 is being opened. Answer: only because of that observation — D-4 is the chart of residence.
• In D-4 (lagna Taurus) Rāhu is with the 12th lord Mars, and by graha dṛṣṭi he aspects the 9th house.
• Antardaśā: Saturn is the 9th lord in D-4. Jupiter sits in the 9th of D-4 and in the 12th of the Rāśi chart. "Either Rāhu–Jupiter or Rāhu–Saturn. My guess would be Rāhu–Saturn."
• The student adds that the man in the proposal is likely to go to the US within months. "Who knows then, this may be the one."

"Whether she gets married to this person or not, it's very likely that in this daśā, in the Rāhu daśā, she will go abroad."
