Education & Scholarly Achievement — D24 Siddhamsa

Three charts read in class. Pandit Sanjay Rath’s D-24: lagna lord Mercury and 5th lord Venus in Gemini lagna give Parashara’s Maharaja Yoga of following, Jupiter in Pisces in the 10th spreads the knowledge of the Maharshis, 9th lord Saturn shows the guru, and a Graha Malika Yoga runs from the 10th to the lagna. Sri Aurobindo’s D-24: the lords of the 1st, 5th, 9th and 10th together in the 2nd, Sun with Rahu and Ketu in the 8th of sadhana, Gajakesari Yoga in the 12th — moksha in the matter of learning. Dasha Analysis — Reading Mahadasha & Antardasha

The Sun is the karaka of the mahadasha and the Moon of the antardasha: judge a mahadasha by the planet's house and lordship from lagna, and an antardasha by the arudha padas its lord occupies or has argala on. PVNR works it through his own D-24. Shani dasha, with Saturn as 8th and 9th lord in the 3rd, gave Sanskrit learning, discipline and laziness in starting. Moon antardasha (1986–88), with the Moon in A5 and A11 and 12th from A6, gave a state rank and IIT selection without struggle. Guru antardasha (1992–94), with Jupiter in A7 and A8, ended his formal education in July 1993 and began his continuous study of astrology. John Kerry — D24 Education Analysis

In the Siddhamsha the 4th house is basic education, the 9th the bachelor's degree and the 2nd the study after it — each the 6th from the last, because study builds on study, where marriage moves by the 8th. In John Kerry's D24 Mercury as 8th and 5th lord in the 4th gives schooling across several countries and quick adaptation. Saturn, yogakaraka from Libra with rāśi and graha dṛṣṭi on it and placed in Skandamsha, gives political science; the degree ends in Rahu–Mercury, Mercury being in the 8th from Libra. Jupiter, lord of Pisces in the 9th from it, overrides Sun and Mars and gives law.

D10 Career (Service vs Business) & D24 Siddhamsa Education Analysis

Dasamsa: a strong 6th house means service and a strong 7th means business — count the planets. When they tie, see which lord sits in the 7th: the 6th lord there gives strong desires about work, not a business; the 7th, 11th or 3rd lord there makes an entrepreneur. The house a planet owns is its agenda; the house it occupies gives it resources. Jupiter in the 9th of Dasamsa protects the career, and as Badhaka lord of a dual-sign lagna he gives an unhappiness the person cannot explain. The strong trikona shows why a person works. Siddhamsa (D24): 4th = basic education, 9th = bachelor’s, 2nd = master’s; a planet linking the 9th and 2nd keeps the master’s in the same subject. Saturn and Ketu give civil engineering.

D24 Siddhamsa — Learning and Conditional Dashas Applied to the native

A student asks for a mantra to help him retain what he hears in class; the answer is to look at charts, make predictions and be wrong. The rare conditional nakshatra dashas and their conditions — Chaturaseeti Sama (84 years) applies when the 10th lord is in the 10th — and why they are read exactly like Vimshottari. In D-24 the houses of occult knowledge are the 8th (the knowledge), 11th (learning it), 5th (scholarship) and 2nd (prediction); the Rasi 4th lord shows grasping and the 5th lord retention. The student's D-24 is then read: Atmakaraka Sun with the 11th lord in the 5th, a Raj Yoga on the 2nd–8th axis, the antardashas in which his predictions will come right, and which form of Krishna to pray to.

Sanjay Rath — D24 Astrological Knowledge in Practice

Where a person's astrological knowledge comes from, read by correlating D-24 with D-12. In Sanjay Rath's D-24 the 4th house of learning is Virgo, ruled by lagna lord Mercury. In his D-12, Virgo is the 10th house of karma from the paternal grandfather's lagna and the 4th from the uncle's lagna, and both have Jupiter and Mercury in the 2nd or 8th — two astrologers who taught him. From the father's lagna Virgo is the 6th house of obstruction: the father burnt his astrology books.

D24 Narayana Dasha for Occult Learning, Free Will & AL Philosophy

Narayana Dasha of a divisional chart: the controlling house (D-10 the 10th, D-24 the 12th, D-20 the 8th), its Rasi lord placed in the division as the seed, the Ketu and Saturn exceptions, and why only the 1st principle is used. The D-24 dasha is then read in three students' charts through the houses of occult knowledge — 8th aptitude, 11th learning, 5th application, 2nd prediction — with a 3rd-house dasha for writing and a strong 9th for finding a guru. D-24 is the chart of evolution and maturity, and must be read with the Rasi. The Arudha Lagna of the D-24, D-10 and D-12 gives the image at school, at work and with parents. Drig Dasha — Spiritual Significance & D24 Narayana Dasha for Education

A bright student dropped out of college at the end of 1998 and withdrew into meditation; the class asks why. Dṛg daśā is the daśā of spiritual life: a daśā sign aspected by Ketu brings spiritual awakening, one aspected by Rahu brings confusion, and with both nodes in dual signs both act together. The D-24 Narayana daśā has two seeds — the 12th lord of the rāśi chart for the complete siddhi, the 4th lord for formal schooling. Run from the 4th lord, Taurus daśā (1990–2001) is aspected by A3 (a short break) and A8 (a complete break), which the sign gives in its last third — when he dropped out. In Gemini daśā the last third goes to Sun and then to Saturn, yogakāraka and 9th lord, the house of the bachelor’s degree. The Tithi Praveśa of 2005 confirms the turn.

PVNR's Marriage Muhurtha Analysis & D24 Narayana Dasha for Education

PVNR’s marriage muhurtha (August 1, 1993, 9:28 PM IST, the birthplace) read for children. A muhurtha chart is not a natal chart; it shows which forces bless and which obstruct at that moment. In its saptamsa the trine lords carry the blessings, and both children were born when benefics transited the signs those lords occupy. The muhurtha decides whether the result comes; the transits that follow decide when. Then two student questions on one chart: Kala Sarpa and Kala Amrita yoga are counted in the natural zodiacal order, and the D-24 Narayana Dasha seeded from the 4th lord times a master’s degree — the 4th, 9th and 2nd houses of D-24 as the three levels of education, each dasha judged through the 7th from it, with Vimshottari showing how the mind takes it.

Worked Example — D24 Education, D10 Career Analysis & ND Three-Part Rules

The same chart, now for education and career. In D-24 the 9th house is the bachelor's degree and its lord the intelligence applied to it: Saturn and Mercury in the 9th and a debilitated 9th lord with the nodes show a telecom degree done slowly and without interest, timed by the three-parts rule on the D-24 Narayana Dasha. In D-10 the 10th house, with Jupiter in moolatrikona, is the strongest of 2, 6 and 10 and shows administration and HR, but four planets in the 8th make retirement stronger than career. The Narayana Dasha of D-10 is split by the three-parts rule and Jupiter's share by the four-parts rule: the career consolidates in 2005–06, is solid in 2006–2010, and changes with Capricorn dasha in 2010. From then PVNR expects a business of her own for a while — its kind read from A7 in Scorpio with Rahu's aspect, its year tested on the 2010 annual chart.

AV + Sudarshan Chakra Dasha — PVNR's D24 1987 Academic Success

Parashara says Ashtakavarga is to be used with Sudarshana Chakra Dasha but not how. PVNR's reading: use the natal chart's Ashtakavarga to judge the year's entry chart, the year chart's to judge the month, and so on; a planet with a high score in the sign it occupies at entry is well placed to push its natal agenda. Shown on his own D-24 for 1987–88: Jupiter 6, Mercury 7 and Sun 6 dominate, and the Sarvashtakavarga from the progressed Surya lagna picks out the 5th, 3rd and 12th houses — recognition, effort, and the compromise and giving of the 12th. Moon Profession/Health Combinations, D24 Education Field Guidance (BCS vs Biotech) & Career Indicators

Jaimini’s Moon combinations: Moon in svāṁśa aspected by Venus gives work with liquids and chemicals (chemical engineering); aspected by Mercury, a doctor; Moon in the 4th from svāṁśa aspected by Venus, Mars or Ketu gives leucoderma, white leprosy or bluish leprosy — the teacher admits the logic of the last group is not yet clear to him. The example is a boy choosing between Computer Science and biotechnology after his 12th. The Navāṁśa is confirmed first: Taurus rising, with exalted vargottama Mars in a trine, Jupiter and Mercury aspecting the lagna, and Venus in the 10th giving the effect of Ketu in lagna by the weekday-order rule; Aries rising, two minutes earlier, is tested and dropped. In D-24 three lagnas lie within minutes — Gemini with every malefic in a kendra (Sarpa Yoga), Cancer with the lagna lord in the 8th, Taurus with the 8th lord in lagna — and the class does not settle among them. Mars and Mercury favour computers; the Moon–Jupiter parivartana in Navāṁśa and Rahu with the Moon in D-24 favour biotechnology, which is the suggestion. Rule: a debilitated 9th or 4th lord in D-24 means the native did not get the line of study he wanted.

Authorship/Knowledge by Planet, House-Position Differentiation, Khemadruma Yoga & Complete MK Sthana List

Jaimini sutras 1.2.102–1.2.119. Moon and Jupiter in Swamsa or the 5th make an excellent author; Venus in Jupiter's place a lesser one, Mercury lesser still. Planet by planet in the 1st or 5th: Venus the poet, speaker and critic; Jupiter the genius and author who is not eloquent; Saturn stage fright; Mercury the Mimamsaka; Mars the logician; Moon Sankhya, Yoga, music and singing; Sun the Vedas and the Bhagavad Gita; Ketu mathematics, because mathematics needs intuition. Jupiter's aspect widens any of them, and the results extend to the 2nd house. The house tells how the ability comes: 1st from birth, 5th by abhyasa, 9th from a guru or institution, 2nd inborn plus abhyasa and a source of money. Only planets in these houses or aspecting the Navamsa lagna count, and lordship is ignored. Ketu in the 2nd under malefic aspect gives stammering. Khemadruma Yoga — malefics in the 2nd and 8th — harms health from Lagna, finance and status from Arudha Lagna in the rasi chart, marriage from Navamsa lagna and spiritual life from Karakamsa; the Moon's aspect makes it sure. Upanayana Dasha Validation (Rahu-Mercury), Annual D24 of the Native + Maya Philosophy (Yoga Vasishtham)

After the muhūrta is fixed, the daśās are checked. In the natal chart the boy runs Mars daśā, Moon antardaśā, and the Moon sits in Mantrapada, in the 5th of navamsa and in own sign in D-20. In the Tithi Praveśa year the day falls in Rahu daśā, Mercury antardaśā; read in the annual D-20, Rahu stands in for Ketu, lord of A5 in the 9th, and Mercury is in the 5th from him with the bhoga in the 5th from lagna. The annual chart for 2006–07 is then read: malefics in the 3rd and 6th of the rāśi chart, and in D-24 a strong 4th and 5th but the 9th lord Sun eclipsed by the nodes in the 6th — good studies, trouble with a teacher, a likely change of school. OCD Chart Analysis — Moon+Sun Affliction Pattern, Sun in Moola Gandanta & D24 Medical Education

A high-school senior with obsessive compulsive disorder, Gemini lagna. Lagna lord Mercury is in the 7th, his maraṇa kāraka sthāna and the bādhaka sthāna, with 8th lord Saturn and a Sun at half a degree of Sagittarius — Mūla, deep gaṇḍānta. Moon, lord of A6, is with Rāhu in the 9th. In D-30 an exalted Sun and Mars both aspect Moon: where Saturn and Rāhu on the Moon deplete the mind, Sun gives over-control of the mind and Mars the anger — a reading the teacher gives with the caveat that he is not fully sure. Using Dvisaptati Sama daśā, the trouble starts in Rāhu, recurs through Sun, and Moon and Mars daśās do not promise a cure; only Mercury daśā from 2029 does. D24 Formal vs Overall Education Seeds (12th vs 4th Lord), D24 9th House Analysis & Trilochana Yoga via Parivartana

Which seed starts the Narayana daśā of D-24? Technically the 12th lord of the rāśi chart, which shows overall learning; Sanjay Rath uses the 4th lord for formal education and degrees, and the teacher says to look at both. The example is a schoolboy (1990) who wants to study medicine. In his D-24 (Scorpio lagna) Mars, Sun and Mercury sit in Cancer in the 9th; Mercury exchanges signs with 9th lord Moon in the 8th, so it is as though Sun, Moon and Mars are together: results akin to Trilochana yoga for the bachelor’s education. Moon is in maraṇa kāraka sthāna and hemmed by malefics, which gives anxiety and displacement, but a house lord never destroys his own house. Both Narayana daśās are then read: Capricorn daśā from the 12th-lord seed (desire to learn) and Scorpio daśā from the 4th-lord seed (entry into the bachelor’s course).

Saturn Dasha in D24 (A9+A5+A11 Confluence), Exalted vs Debilitated Planet in 3rd/6th from AL & D20 Spiritual Analysis

The Vimshottari Saturn mahādaśā of the same student is judged in D-24. From lagna Saturn is only a functional malefic giving desire; from Arudha Lagna he is a malefic in the 3rd with A9, A5 and A11, which makes it the best daśā for education. Saturn–Sun antardaśā: the bhoga falls in the 11th of D-24, so studies are safe, but in the rāśi chart Sun is 9th lord in maraṇa kāraka sthāna with the 6th lord and the bādhakeśa, and in D-12 he is 8th lord, so the year is risky for the father and for health and a homa is advised. The rule for the 3rd and 6th from Arudha Lagna: a debilitated planet reverses (benefic acts as malefic, malefic as benefic), an exalted planet does not; exaltation accentuates his nature. The class ends with D-20 and its Narayana daśā, the Iṣṭa and Dharma devatā from the navāṁśa, and a first reading of D-10.

CA Exam Chart (1984, Leo Lagna) — D24 6th House for Competitive Exams (Not 9th), AL+A5 Yoga in Gemini & Mercury Sub-Period May–July 2009 as Target Window

A B.Com and MBA graduate has failed the Chartered Accountancy final for two years and asks which deity to pray to. The teacher reads the whole education from D24 (Aries lagna): the bachelor's degree from the 9th house, the master's from the 2nd (6th from the 9th), and a competitive exam taken for one's livelihood from the 6th, with the 10th as support. The 9th lord Jupiter in the 6th ties the exam to the B.Com; the 6th lord Mercury, kāraka of accounting, in the 8th with the 8th lord gives a Vipareeta Rāja Yoga — hard work, then success. Timing uses three tools together: the Narayana daśā of D24 (Gemini, holding AL and A5 — success before February 2010), the nakshatra daśā that applies when the 10th lord is in the 10th (Venus–Sun–Mercury, about April–July 2009), and the D24 of two Tithi Praveśa years (2008 mixed, 2009 strong). He puts 20–25% on the coming attempt and 70–75% on next year, shows how to say that to the client, and prescribes the Viṣṇu Sahasranāma with sampuṭīkaraṇa for Mercury.

Son's Career Chart (1992) — D24 Mars+Sun in 9th (Surgery/Mechanical/Chemical), D10 Venus Exalted in 10th (Luxury Sector) & Rahu AMK = Research

A father asks which field his teenage son should choose for college; the son is sure only that it is not engineering. The teacher calls it short-sighted to pick a degree from D24 alone and finds the career in D10 first. In D10 (Gemini lagna) exalted Venus in the 10th contends with Mars in his own sign in the 6th. Because the 10th lord Jupiter is debilitated in the 8th and A10 falls in the 6th, Mars is judged the primary career and Venus–Jupiter a secondary one that may bring fame. Mars means making things — mechanical, chemical, civil, automobile, hardware — or surgery; not software or abstract engineering. Venus, Moon, Sun and Rahu add medicine with research. D24 confirms it: Mars and Sun in the 9th house of the bachelor's degree. The advice is medicine if he will take it, otherwise mechanical, chemical or automobile engineering, with Venus pointing to luxury cars later.

Example Chart (1992, Aquarius Lagna) — Pilot vs FBI Analysis (Amsa-Based), Ketu the 6th Lord in Yama Amsa = Intelligence Work, D24 Humanities/Law & Sadhaka Phase 2015-23

A teenager choosing between pilot and FBI agent. In the D-10 (Gemini lagna) the 10th lord Jupiter is debilitated in the 8th while Mars sits in his own sign in the 6th with A10, so the 6th house and Mars give the career. The teacher questions the traditional Sun-for-pilots rule and reads the job by function (Mars, with Mercury), then lets the dikpāla amśas decide: Mars is in Īśāna amśa, while the 6th co-lord Ketu is in Yama amśa and the exalted lagna lord Mercury, aspecting the 10th, is in Nirṛti amśa — FBI is the better choice. Saturn daśā makes him a ground-level operative; Mercury daśā, from about age 45, an analyst in a central office. A bad Jupiter–Mercury antardaśā for studies is used to move the D-24 lagna from Gemini to Cancer; the rectified D-24 and its Narayana daśā show a bachelor’s degree in humanities or law and a doubtful master’s. The class ends with a Viṣṇu remedy and a predicted sādhaka period in 2015–2023.

Lady (the example 1970, Rectified): D4 5th House = Motherland Pull (Jupiter + 5L), Saptamsha Gender Determination (3 Factors), Two Boys Confirmed, Saturn Dasha 2012-31 = Children Excel & Ishta Devata: AK → 12th from AK in D9

A woman who has lived in the US for twelve years is leaving for India in two days, in Jupiter–Mars, and asks whether the family will settle. In the chaturthāṁśa the 1st and 5th houses show the motherland and the 9th and 12th show abroad; Jupiter is in the 5th with the 5th lord and Mars is in the 5th from him. The birth time is moved 52 seconds, from Gemini to Taurus saptāṁśa lagna, because only then do the lords of the children’s signs show two boys and a break at the third. The navāṁśa shows no threat to the marriage, the saptāṁśa shows both children doing well in Saturn daśā (2012–2031), and the Tithi Praveśa charts of 2008–09, 2009–10 and 2010–11 improve year by year. The chance of her returning to the US is low. The remedy is the Hanumān Chālīsā: Mars is in the 12th from the Ātmakāraka Saturn in the navāṁśa, and Hanumān also relieves Saturn.

A girl born in 1994 (Gemini lagna) who never took to studies. One minute decides the D24 lagna: Scorpio gives a strong education chart that does not fit her, Libra fits. With Libra, the lagna lord Venus is combust with the bādhaka lord, yogakāraka Saturn is aspected by Jupiter from maraṇa kāraka sthāna and by māraka Mars, Rāhu as 5th lord is in the 12th, and A4 is in a dusthāna from AL. Mercury daśā and Saturn antardaśā both activate the 8th from A4, so formal education may stop; Ketu daśā and the D4 point to study abroad. For the mind, the rāśi chart and D16 both put the lagna lord with Saturn and the 6th lord: depression under surface aggression, a Vāta picture. Remedies are Veṅkaṭeśvara, the Vijaya Gaṇapati mantra above all, and a diamond. Parashara allows the karaka to be taken as lagna; for learning that is Mercury. The teacher counts houses from a planet by longitude: the planet's longitude starts the 1st house, and each house is the next 30°. In the rasi chart Mercury is at 18°51' Cancer and the dasha lord Jupiter at 17° Leo, so Jupiter falls at the end of the 1st house from Mercury, not in the 2nd. In the D-24 Mercury sits at the very start of Libra, whole signs serve, and Jupiter in the 12th as 3rd and 6th lord gives a Viparita Raja Yoga for education: struggle, then results better than expected. A father asks about his son's college education and career (Aquarius lagna, born 1992). The 4th and 9th lord Venus is in the 5th and vargottama but combust, under 7° from the Sun, so education is the weak side of the chart and Jupiter dasha (till 2018) runs on and off. Mars is the strong planet: 10th lord in the 3rd in Aries aspecting the 10th, amatyakaraka, own sign in rasi, navamsa and dasamsa, Paravatamsa, Shadbala 127%. Because the lagna is vargottama, Shatabdika Dasha applies; reckoned from lagna it gives Mars dasha from 2017 to 2037, which the teacher calls the glorious period of the life. His advice: take a Martian field such as engineering, do not lose heart over grades, and prepare for 2017. Remedies: propitiate Jupiter without his gem, a diamond for Venus, no red coral, and Hanuman — chosen over Subrahmanya because Mars is in Bharani and confirmed by a nimitta — with the Bheemarupi Hanuman Stotra of Samarth Ramdas.

An undergraduate who left pre-med for math and biology: which suits him? Rasi has six planets on the 4th–10th axis, with the 4th lord Sun in gaṇḍānta half a degree from Ketu, yet sitting at the entry of his own house and separating from Ketu. The D-24 lagna is on a border; Saturn daśā gave top-of-class schooling, which fits Cancer (Saturn with lagna lord Moon, yogakāraka from the 4th), so the time moves from 11:37 to 11:36 PM. Taurus against Aries rasi lagna is settled by his speech and temperament and by the father seen in D-12. In D-24 Sun, 2nd lord with Rahu and Ketu, aspects the 9th of the bachelor's degree; in D-10 Rahu in his own 2nd house is aspected by Sun and Ketu from the 8th. The same Sun–Rahu–Ketu combination in three charts points to surgery, with math possible but not career-defining. Career is judged average (lagna lord Venus debilitated, Sun in gaṇḍānta), with business advised in Venus daśā from about 47. Remedies: no ruby, propitiate Sun, a diamond for Venus.

The D-24 lagna is fixed as Gemini from the events: he entered in Mercury–Venus–Mercury and dropped out in Mercury–Sun, the Sun being the 7th lord from the 9th house, inimical to 9th lord Saturn, and a maraka from A9. One chart is tested varga by varga against known events before any prediction is made. Marriage (Aug 26, 2007) fell in D9 Jupiter Mahadasha, Saturn Antardasha: Jupiter is 5th lord with the lagna lord in Leo lagna, Saturn is 7th lord in the 7th. Saturn is not a benefic for Leo lagna, and the teacher answers that objection: judge a planet from lagna and also from the house of interest, where Saturn is lagna lord in lagna. The D9 Char Dasha (Scorpio: lagna lord and 7th lord exchange) and the 2007 Tajika Navamsa (Mercury–Ketu period) agree. Going abroad (Dec 22, 2007) is read from D4 — Rahu–Rahu, Pisces Char Dasha — and the MCA degree from D24, where Rahu–Moon only makes sense with Pisces lagna, which moves the birth time to 11:31:45.

The D-10 is what rectifies this chart. The good job of June 2005 came in Rāhu–Ketu, in the Saturn or Mercury pratyantardaśā. Mercury and Saturn form a rāja yoga from Sun and from Moon but nothing from the Leo D-10 lagna, so the teacher adds 3½ minutes: the D-10 lagna becomes Virgo, joins the Moon, and the yoga holds from all three references. The Rāśi lagna stays Aries. The rectified D-24 lagna, Leo, then explains the move to a good college in August 2001 through Jupiter, the 5th lord in lagna. In D-3 the 11th house is taken as the elder sister's lagna to read her marriage (Moon–Rāhu) and her child (Moon–Jupiter). In Rāśi the kidney infection of May 2008 came in Moon–Saturn: Saturn is the bādhaka lord in the 7th house and closely aspects Moon, Sun and lagna.

A medical graduate (born 1987) has been refused by five US universities and asks whether to keep trying or go home. His given time, 11:24 AM, puts the rāśi lagna on the Virgo–Libra border. The teacher settles Virgo from a lean Vāta build and fast, fluent speech, then moves the time to 11:18:30 so that D-24 has Taurus rising: Sun in the 9th for medicine, a 5th–10th lord exchange between Mercury and Saturn for intelligence, and 6th lord Venus with Mars explaining the fights with professors in Rahu–Venus (2008–10). In D-10, Ketu is the 10th lord but sits in the 8th, and Ketu gives the result of the house he occupies, so the career waits for the 20-year Venus daśā from 2015. The D-10 lagna of the example is moved from Capricorn to Sagittarius: Moon and Ketu in the 10th from Capricorn do not show a man who writes and manages application software, while Sagittarius puts the 10th lord Mercury in the lagna. The D-10 Vimshottari then fails — Saturn, a malefic 2nd and 3rd lord in the 9th, began in 2005 just as the career rose — so the teacher uses Dvisaptati Sama dasha, which applies because the 7th lord Mercury is in the D-10 lagna. Under it the 2005 gain falls in Mars–Rahu and Mars–Sun: Mars is the 5th lord in the 5th, in Aries, a prishthodaya sign, and gives his result at the end of his dasha. Moon dasha (1989–98) brought three changes of company; Mars and Mercury are the stable, good dashas. The native asks in 2012 whether his luck is over and whether to ease off: D-1 Saturn dasha in the 12th says the luck has peaked, but in D-10 Mercury–Rahu from June 2012 brings recognition, and a slowdown is only seen in Mercury–Moon, September 2014 to October 2015.
