Example Chart (1926) — Leo Dasha (Mystical Experiences, Guru Blessings), Taurus Dasha (Big Spiritual Events) & AK-BK Mutual Kendra in Navamsa (Gajakesari Yoga)
A learned spiritual teacher and homeopath, Capricorn lagna with debilitated but retrograde Jupiter in lagna. The guru at the soul level is the Bhratrukaraka: AK Jupiter (Virgo) and BK Moon (Sagittarius) are in mutual kendra in Navamsa, with a Mercury–Jupiter parivartana and Putrakaraka Mercury joining them — the guru's blessings, Gajakesari fame and faithful followers. The guru's blessings come in the dasha whose sign is linked to the BK, the 9th lord or Jupiter: Leo holds BK Moon. In Leo dasha the progressed lagna is Sagittarius, with exalted Ketu in lagna, Jupiter in the 2nd, and the 9th and 10th lords Sun and Mercury in the 8th — dharmic work and, with the 7th lord in the 8th, mystical experiences. In Taurus dasha the progressed lagna is Virgo: the lagna lord is tied to the 12th but the 10th is very strong in both the natal and dasha-start charts, so a man who wants moksha still does big things. Death is not seen from Druk Dasha.
Key principle
Even though he is interested in being liberated, interested in his own moksha, he must have done lot of activities during that time, lot of big activities because of the nature of the planets there.
Example Chart
Example Chart (1926) — Druk Dasha of a Spiritual Teacher
The Chart
- Lagna: Capricorn, with Jupiter in lagna — debilitated but retrograde, so he gives results as though exalted. Jupiter's blessings are on lagna.
- Sun and Mercury in Cancer (7th), Moon in Leo (8th), Mars in Aries (4th), Saturn exalted in Libra (10th), Venus and Rahu in Gemini (6th), Ketu in Sagittarius (12th).
- Druk Dasha is not a precise dasha. It gives generic phases of spiritual life and does not need the divisional lagnas. A birth time accurate within about 45 minutes is enough, as long as the rasi lagna is safe.
Do Not Read Too Much Into Details
A student said: Bhratrukaraka is in the 8th house, the house of meditation, so he sees his guru in meditation.
- PVNR: maybe true, but far-fetched. Mapping every detail of a life to an astrological factor is a futile exercise — it fits this chart and fails on the next.
- His example: an explanation that one lady became Miss Universe and not Miss World because Jupiter is the karaka of "universe". It sounds nice and cannot be replicated.
- Take only the two generic facts: (1) he has strong meditation, with mystical experiences; (2) he has the blessings of his guru — blessings in his spiritual pursuit, not material ones.
Guru and Followers at the Soul Level — Navamsa
- The guru at the soul level is the Bhratrukaraka (BK); the self is the Atmakaraka (AK). See the relation between them in Navamsa — the chart of dharma, of guidance and of reaping purva punya. (The Atmakaraka–Darakaraka relation in Navamsa is read the same way for soul-level compatibility with a wife or a business partner.)
- In rasi AK Jupiter (Capricorn) and BK Moon (Leo) are friends but in mutual 6th/8th. The rasi does not explain the blessings.
- In Navamsa: AK Jupiter in Virgo, BK Moon in Sagittarius — Jupiter's own sign, and in mutual kendra.
- Mercury is in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Virgo: a parivartana between Mercury and Jupiter. So it is almost as though Jupiter is with the Moon in Sagittarius.
- Moon and Jupiter in mutual kendra is Gajakesari yoga, which gives fame. With the parivartana it is stronger still.
- Followers at the soul level are the Putrakaraka (PK) — here Mercury, in Sagittarius with the BK and exchanging signs with the AK. AK, BK and PK are all linked in mutual kendra: many faithful followers.
"In general, mutual kendra relation between the two grahas is very important between any two souls."
"If Putrakaraka and Atmakaraka had a bad relation, there would be at least some followers because of whom there would be some trouble for the person."
Vimsamsa (D-20) could also be seen, but the birth time is not known to be accurate enough, so it was left.
Which Dasha Brings the Guru's Blessings
Rule: for the guru's blessings to come, the Bhratrukaraka, or the 9th lord from lagna, or Jupiter should be associated with the dasha sign itself — not the progressed lagna — because the dasha sign is the progressed 9th house.
- Sagittarius: has Ketu, but no strong 9th-house or BK influence.
- Leo: contains BK Moon itself.
- Libra: has rasi drishti of BK Moon from Leo, and holds exalted Saturn.
- Leo and Libra are the interesting dashas. PVNR picks Leo as the transformational one, though the student said the peak came in the dasha after it.
Leo Dasha — The Transformational Dasha
Progressed lagna = 5th from Leo = Sagittarius. In the natal chart from Sagittarius:
- Lagna: exalted Ketu — the 12th lord (co-lord of Scorpio) and the karaka of the 12th. Spirituality becomes very pronounced.
- 2nd: lagna lord Jupiter in the house of speech — he may have given many lectures.
- 1st/7th axis: Ketu in lagna, Venus and Rahu in the 7th.
- 8th (Cancer): Sun (9th lord) and Mercury (10th lord, also 7th lord) together — a Dharma-Karmadhipati yoga in the 8th, the house of working hard. A lot of dharmic activity, with a lot of hard work.
- 7th lord Mercury in the 8th.
"Whenever that combination is there from the progressed lagna in Druk Dasha, it actually results in some mystical experiences."
The condition he adds: the 8th house should be strong, or have Rahu/Ketu, or have a maraka showing some kind of death.
- Leo also contains the BK: being very close to the guru and strongly guided by him at the soul level is very likely in this dasha.
Dasha Pravesha Chakra of Leo dasha, from Sagittarius (as read in class):
- Lagna lord Jupiter in the 10th — good for spiritual karma.
- 10th lord Mercury in the 9th with Ketu. In the natal chart the 10th lord was with the 9th lord; here he is in the 9th house. Either way the 9th and 10th are linked.
- Sun and Moon together in the 8th — an Amavasya yoga; the 8th lord is in the 8th.
- Natal has the 7th lord in the 8th, this chart the 8th lord in the 8th: strong mystical experiences.
- The 3rd is strong too (enthusiasm), but the 8th, 9th and 10th dominate both charts: a lot of dharmic karma, and experiences.
Taurus Dasha — Big Activities
The last dasha of his life. Progressed lagna = 5th from Taurus = Virgo. (PVNR first began reading from Taurus itself and corrected himself: take the 5th from the dasha sign.)
Natal chart from Virgo:
- Lagna lord Mercury in the 11th with the 12th lord Sun.
- Venus and Rahu in the 10th — the 9th lord in the 10th.
Dasha Pravesha Chakra from Virgo (as read in class):
- Rahu–Ketu axis on lagna; lagna lord in the 12th.
- Three benefics in the 10th — Jupiter, Venus and the Moon, the 7th, 9th and 11th lords. A very powerful Raja yoga. Even if the Moon is not counted as a benefic, Jupiter and Venus in the 10th is a blessing.
Reading:
- The lagna lord shows what one is interested in. He is with the 12th lord in one chart and in the 12th house in the other: the man is interested in moksha, vairagya, giving up.
- But the 10th is extremely strong in both charts, with the 9th lord of dharma in it in both. So he must have done big things in that period — establishing something, organising big events such as big yajnas.
"Even though he is interested in being liberated, interested in his own moksha, he must have done lot of activities during that time, lot of big activities because of the nature of the planets there."
Why did he pass away in that dasha? Druk Dasha does not show that. Look at Shoola Dasha and the others.
Not checked here: the two Dasha Pravesha Chakras. The class gives no dasha dates, so those charts could not be cast; the placements above are as the teacher read them.
