Example Chart — Childbirth Best Window: Early 2016 Jan-Mar (Jupiter Stationary 29° Leo + Rahu 29° Leo, Both Aspecting Progressed Moon D7); Putrasahamam in the 2015 Tithi Pravesha D7 Has Mars 96%+Jupiter 85%; 40-50% Conception Probability; Moon 2nd Lord in 8H of D7 = Adoption More Probable; Santana Gopal + Vishnu Sahasranama 11x/Week for 2-3 Years

With a Saptamsa this weak, only the dasha can help. Rahu–Mercury (to March 2016) is preferred to Rahu–Saturn: Mercury is the D7 lagna lord and sits in the 9th house from Venus, the lord of the first child’s house. Of the Tithi Pravesha charts for 2013, 2014 and 2015, only 2015 is strong: its Saptamsa has the lagna, 5th and 9th lords all in own signs, and Putra Sahama there is aspected by Mars and Jupiter. The year’s own dashas point to January–March 2016. Transits for January 2016 add that Rahu, the dasha lord, aspects his own natal D7 position within a degree, and that Jupiter and Rahu at 29° Leo aspect the progressed Moon of the Vimshottari progression. But the Moon is the 2nd lord in the 8th house of the natal Saptamsa: an addition to the family, not a birth. The teacher gives a 40–50% chance of conceiving and suspects adoption. The remedy is Vishnu Sahasranama with the Santana Gopala mantra between the shlokas, 11 times on one day every week for two to three years.

Key principle

So powerful karmas will require powerful remedies. I don’t think just by doing Santana Gopala mantra 108 times every day or something, anything will happen. That is not going to cut it.

Which antardasha of Rahu

  • At the time of the class Rahu–Jupiter is running. A child conceived now would be born in Rahu–Saturn. So Rahu–Saturn and Rahu–Mercury are compared.
  • From the D7 lagna, Rahu and Saturn are the 9th lords. Rahu is in the 4th house, Saturn in the 3rd.
  • The first child is seen from the 5th, Libra. Its lord Venus is in Sagittarius. From Venus, Rahu and Saturn are the 3rd lords, in the 10th house. They have a chance, but nothing links them to the 5th house or its lord beyond that. Saturn is a planet who depletes.
  • Mercury is the lagna lord of D7. The lagna lord gives auspicious things and new beginnings. From Venus he is the 7th lord in the 9th house, at 15° Leo.
  • Rahu–Mercury (2013 to March 2016) is the better candidate.

The Tithi Pravesha charts of 2013, 2014, 2015

  • 2013: Moon rules the year. Jupiter is in lagna in the Rasi chart. The D7 lagna is at 29° Cancer, on the border with Leo. Hard to say anything.
  • 2014: Mars rules the year. In its D7 Saturn is the 5th lord. Jupiter (5th lord of the natal Rasi, the karaka) is in the 9th house, in an inimical sign but in a trine. The 9th lord Venus, who shows the first child in that chart, is in the 6th house, his Marana Karaka Sthana. Not good enough.
  • 2015: Saturn rules the year. In its D7 (Aries lagna):
    • 5th lord Sun is in the 5th, in own sign.
    • 9th lord Jupiter is in Sagittarius, his mulatrikona. By degree he is in the 8th house.
    • Lagna lord Mars is in own sign Scorpio, in the 8th.
    • All three trine lords are in own signs. From Jupiter the 1st, 5th and 9th lords are the same three planets.
    • Saturn, the 11th lord, a malefic, is in the 3rd. Saturn and Jupiter aspect each other.
    • In its Rasi chart the 5th lord Mercury is exalted, in the 4th house, very close to Rahu. Rahu is the 10th lord, so 5th and 10th lords join: a Raja Yoga. Neither is the Hora lord, which would have been better. This Mercury is in the lagna of the D7.
  • The 2015 year overlaps the last months of the natal Rahu–Mercury. It is much the strongest of the three years.

The site finds each of these tithi returns a few minutes before the teacher's software. For 2014 that leaves the site's D7 lagna in late Leo; the class reads it from Virgo.

Putra Sahama in the 2015 chart

  • Putra Sahama is at 26° Cancer in the Rasi chart of the year. Its lord Moon is with the 5th lord Mercury, close to the cusp of the 5th house.
  • The sahama is entered in the software as a user-defined special point, so that its divisional longitude can be read. In D7 it is at 2°05' Cancer.
  • Its lord Moon is in own sign in D7.
  • Mars aspects it 96%: the lagna lord in own sign, and the 5th lord from Jupiter.
  • Jupiter aspects it 85%: the 9th lord in own sign.
  • Software note from class: in the aspect table, uncheck "force natal chart", or the table uses natal longitudes instead of the Tithi Pravesha ones. The special point at first showed its Rasi longitude for this reason.

The months

  • Dashas of the 2015 year up to March 2016: Rahu, Venus, Sun, Moon, Mars.
  • Sun is the strongest, the 5th lord in the 5th: January 2016. Mars, the lagna lord, is next: March–April 2016.
  • The first three months of 2016 are the likely period.

Transits, cast for January 20, 2016

  • Jupiter becomes stationary on January 7, 2016 at 29° Leo. He closely joins or aspects no key point of the natal D7. Mercury at 15° Leo is too far.
  • Venus is important for the child, but his transit over a point lasts months and narrows nothing.
  • Saturn is at 19° Scorpio. He owns A2 of D7 (18°23' Capricorn, the family) and aspects it. Someone may come into the family. From A2 one cannot tell a birth from an adoption.
  • Saturn also casts his 3rd aspect on natal D7 Jupiter at 17°18' Capricorn.
  • Rahu is at 29° Leo, with Jupiter. Natal D7 Rahu is at 28° Virgo. Rahu aspects the 2nd from himself. So the dasha lord in transit aspects his own natal D7 position within a degree. He is also a 9th lord in D7.

Progressed Vimshottari positions

  • In the software: Progressions, date January 20, 2016, noon, "Vimshottari Dasa Progression". Only the lagna, the nine planets and the other Vimshottari starting points are accurate in that chart.
  • Each point is moved to the nakshatra of the dasha it is now running. The natal Moon in Uttara Phalguni is shown in Swati, because Rahu dasha is running. The lagna moves to Mula.
  • Progressed lagna 4°45' Sagittarius. Progressed Moon 12°31' Libra.
  • The rule: a planet that signifies the event in the natal Rasi and D7 must closely aspect a progressed point that is also auspicious for the event. Within 2–3 degrees, not 5–6. At least a three-quarter aspect; ignore half aspects.
  • Progressed Jupiter is at 16° Cancer. Nothing of interest aspects him.
  • Progressed Moon in D7 is at 27°40' Sagittarius. Transit Jupiter and Rahu at 29° Leo aspect it within a degree. Jupiter is the karaka and the natal 5th lord. Rahu is the dasha lord and a 9th lord.
  • Progressed Putra Sahama is at 7° Leo. The Sun at 6° Capricorn aspects it by three-quarters.

What the Moon means here

  • In the natal Rasi chart Moon is the 9th lord: fortune.
  • In the natal Saptamsa he is the 2nd lord in the 8th house. Not the 9th, which would have been good. A child is born from past punya, so the 5th and 9th must be involved for one's own child.
  • The 8th is something gained suddenly, or something unfortunate attached to it. The 2nd is family and its growth.
  • So it shows an addition to the family. It does not show a child being born.

The judgment

"They should try definitely for this period, and my suspicion is it may be an adoption rather than conceiving a child."

  • The 2015 Tithi Pravesha has the lagna, 5th and 9th lords strong. That is a chance of conceiving.
  • But the natal chart does not show a birth strongly, and the transits are not that conducive.
  • Likely course: she tries for a few more years, then they make up their minds and adopt.

"I cannot put a number, but there is a 50% chance or maybe 40% chance of conceiving a child and getting a child in the early 2016."

The Remedy

Two ways to choose a remedy

  • From the horoscope: worship the planet that causes the trouble, or its deity.
  • Standard remedies for standard problems. For debts, the Rina Mochana stotra or prayer to Mars. For a child, the Santana Gopala mantra and the Santana Gopala homa.

Why Vishnu Sahasranama with it

  • The D7 lagna lord is Mercury, and the hope rests on Mercury's antardasha in Rahu dasha. Mercury points to Vishnu.
  • The Santana Gopala mantra is a good mantra but highly sattvic. Such mantras work when done in lakhs: five or six hours a day for a couple of years. Done so, a child is very likely whatever the weaknesses of the chart, unless there is a terrible curse of a rishi from a past life. People do not have that dedication, so such specific mantras do not work easily.
  • Some things are enabled for the Kali Yuga: Chandi Patha and Ganesha mantras ("kalau Chandi Vinayakau"), worship of Venkateswara, the Vishnu Sahasranama stotra, Hanuman Chalisa.

The method

  • Read the Vishnu Sahasranama stotra with samputikarana by the Santana Gopala mantra: the mantra, then the first shloka, the mantra, the second shloka, and so on through all 108 shlokas, and the mantra once more at the end. The mantra stands between every two shlokas.
  • Days: Saturday for Rahu, Wednesday for Mercury.
  • Once on each of those days is not enough.

"If somebody is struggling to live, somebody is very weak, let us say, if you just give 2 grains of rice every day, he will not survive, he will die. If you want the person to survive, you have to give at least a fistful of rice."

  • Pick Wednesday or Saturday and do it 11 times on that day, every week. Keep it up for two to three years. Anything less may or may not work.
  • Better still, if they can: the homa, three times.

Why so much

  • The doshas of Moon, Jupiter and Venus are severe, and the lagna of D7 is aspected by the 8th lord and by a planet in Marana Karaka Sthana.

"So powerful karmas will require powerful remedies."

  • The Santana Gopala mantra 108 times a day will not do it. It has to take a few hours of her time every week.
  • The teacher's last word on the case: not a very positive one, about a 40% chance. "Unfortunately, we can't change the destinies of people. We can only read them."
